Student art work is helping to create a unique street design celebrating community life.

An innovative public art project is being unveiled in Stoke-on-Trent to help connect university and college campuses at the heart of the University Quarter.

Thornton Road has been revamped with innovative swirling designs on the tarmac and 15 special floor plaques. The plaques, which have been designed by graphic design students at the university, are themed around community life and feature images of , and. They are placed along Thornton Road among the paving slabs and can be changed at a later date to showcase further designs if required.

Green Verge Project

Staffordshire University has submitted a planning application for the Green Verge project; landscaping works on University land adjacent to Thornton Road, Spencer Road and Carlton Road.

UniQ Forum

The recent Forum on Wednesday 9th February was a full house!  People from many sections of our community enjoyed a presentation from Dr John Wheeler on the Science and Technology Centre.  Students, residents, employees and organisations participated in fact-finding conversation and discussion on a range of topics.

The City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College leads the way as the first college to be awarded the Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Quality Mark.
